Building a SaaS is hard. Building one that lasts is even harder. Here's the honest story of ServerAvatar's evolution.

Version 1: The Proof of Concept

I built the first version in PHP with no framework. It was messy, buggy, and barely worked. But it proved that people wanted this.

Lesson: A janky prototype is worth more than a perfect idea.

Version 2: The Over-Engineered Disaster

I rewrote everything from scratch using a proper framework. Added too many features. Made it so complicated that I couldn't even maintain it myself.

Lesson: Complexity is the enemy of shipping.

Version 3: The Pivot That Failed

I tried to turn ServerAvatar into a marketplace. Let users buy servers directly through the platform. It didn't work.

Lesson: Stick to what you're good at. Server management. Not e-commerce.

Version 4: The Winner

I went back to basics. What do users actually need? Server management made simple. No gimmicks. No marketplace. Just a clean panel that works.

This is the version that stuck. We've been iterating on it ever since.

Lesson: Simplicity wins. Always.
